There was a front page article in the Washington Post regarding Russian Adoption. It covers some of the recent changes in procedures that are affecting when adoptive parents are able to bring their children home. It also talks about the anti-adoption backlash that is occurring in Russia due to the case of an Illinois woman who killed her adopted Russian child.
Frankly, the Post is a little late catching up on this. The procedural changes are getting worked out. Some friends who just came back from Russia with their 9 month old son reported there were forty couples at the US embassy working on immigration papers for their children. Yeah, things are not as easy as they were, but things are happening for people.
Be warned the Post requires a stupid registration to view their articles. I use bugmenot.com to generate a bogus user id.
Ah well...here's the link if you are interested.
