Halloween 2008

Last night we rang doorbells and got candy. It was our first actual door to door with any of our kids on Halloween. Last year we were in Moscow on Halloween and were served by a Russian pirate at dinner (very, very scary trust me). Jason A. went trick or treating with his cousins and Grandma in Knoxville. The year before we went to a church sponsored event.

This year we went to our friends the Reeds and trick or treated in their neighborhood. Joining us were the Thomas family. Here's the four trick or treaters ready to go. Next year I think the three boys should go as Moe, Larry, and Curly. That would be sweet.

Earlier in the week we went to our church's Harvest Hey Day. They had lots of bouncy/jump thing inflatables for the kids. Grace loves those. Here's our fireman and Princess Anastasia enjoying the afternoon.

The inflatables are nice, but when they have a real honest to goodness fire truck to climb around and you are dressed up as a fireman you can forget about doing anything else. Jason went to the fire truck at least four times. The firemen were giving out candy, but who cares about candy when you are dressed as a fireman.

Jason became sort of a joke. We heard second hand that the fireman was telling other people that there was one kid who didn't care about the candy and only wanted to play on the fire truck. It was easy to figure out who he was talking about.

By the end of the afternoon I had enough of the firetruck myself, but we just had to keep going back. Jason loved it while Grace loved sliding and bouncing in the inflatables.
