Today, at approximately 12:45 local time, Jason Alexei left his orphanage in Vidnoye. Our long wait for him is over. He's our son and we are his parents. The above picture was taken today. I can't describe the laughter and joy he's already brought us!!!! He's already growled at us a lot.
This one with the bear sculpture was taken on trip two two weeks ago. Until today, we have not been dressing him, so any pre parental clothing choices were out of our control. We had to get a picture of our strong Russian Bear with the bear on the grounds of his orphange. Here he is on that same visit, showing some teeth.
To recap what happened today, we began the morning by going to get Simone's paperwork registered in Moscow and to pick up her birth certificate (we got that done yesterday). Then we took forever getting to the orphanage. Traffic was horrible, worse than any of our trips. We stopped in Vidnoye to drop off some paperwork so it could be registered there. While they were working on that paperwork we hurredly rushed to the orphanage to pick him up.
We scooted out the door really fast. I would have liked to have had more time to say some things to his caregivers. One was definitely sad to see our little guy leave.
We made it back to the registry with 4 minutes to spare before they closed for lunch. Then we attempted to rush to get his doctor visit done. Traffic again was miserable, so we punted that, skipping the appointment so that we could instead pick up his passport. The passport office closed at 3:30 so that was a bigger priority. We'll get to the doctor Monday morning. Speaking of passport, this is the photoshop photo that Lori and Antoine made for our passport. It worked like a charm. Eyes open Jason!!!! It was great work by them and there were no questions asked!

That's all for now. It's been a long, busy day and frankly I'd rather be playing with Jason Alexei before he goes to bed. Tomorrow and Sunday should be MUCH more relaxing for us. Some good time to start being a family together.
Thanks to all of you for being patient and supportive through this all this. It's time to rejoice. We love you all.
The Lenentines
