Friday Update

We are still on track to leave next Wednesday May 10. We have the Hotel Ukraina reserved again. This time we'll have a two room suite so when Jason Alexei needs to sleep we won't disturb him as much. This time you can keep an eye on the webcam! You might spot us!!!!

Our return flight is still scheduled for Wednesday May 17. Folks have asked about our flight numbers for the return trip, so here they are. Delta #47 from Moscow to Atlanta, followed by Delta #4380 from Atlanta to Huntsville. It is scheduled to arrive around 5:45 in Huntsville.

I only have one more post related to trip #2 to do. It won't have any pictures. To keep you occupied here's an article about a girl who was adopted from Russia around age 10. She's quite a fighter. We've noticed even in the youngest children that the kids in the system are fighters and have been through a lot to get to where they are. Jason Alexei is no exception. He's a strong Russian bear!

The girls' description of her orphanage environment would not be how we would describe Jason Alexei's. From the little we have seen of his careworkers, they really do try to love the kids. There is one woman in particular who oversees Jason's group and she is a great lady. She went with us on the infamous passport photo adventure. I'm thankful he is in Vidnoye Orphanage!

Soon the tone of this site will switch from travel stories to pictures posted by doting parents. I'm sure the interest will plummet shortly thereafter! Just kidding. It is difficult to imagine after a nearly a full year the website is finally getting to serve the intended purpose. I still like to go back and read the linked articles I posted along the way. During the long wait last spring, summer, and fall they really helped keep me motivated, especially seeing how the story of Tom & Alexei became more and more important.

Enough rambling for now.
