Tomorrow, well later this morning actually, we take off for Moscow for our third and final adoption trip of 2007. That will make six trips to Moscow for us in two years! We are not planning to add to that total next year!
Things are as ready as they will be. Bags are mostly packed. Presents are bought and wrapped. The new play room is painted. Some of the furniture is assembled. The main element was a table and chair for Grace and Jason to use, but the one we bought was damaged in the box. I had to return it and the store had no others in stock. Yikes. So we may have to do some emergency Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve...Yikes.
As far as the trip is concerned, our agenda is as follows. We fly to Moscow on the 15th and arrive on Sunday the 16th.
Monday December 17 is the day we have been waiting for. We go to Orekhovo Zuyevo and pick up Grace. Tatiana, our translator, mentioned going to get her medical exam for her US Visa done the same day but I just don't see that happening considering the drive to Orekhovo Zuyevo. We shall see.
The processing of the US Visa at the American Embassy is now a two day process so Tuesday and Wednesday will be Embassy days. We will also get her Russian passport and should register it with the Russian Consulate.
Somewhere in there will be at least one trip to Red Square for a photo session in front of St. Basil's. Maybe I can visit Yuri's tomb then, too. Maybe. Saturday is probably going to be a free day, so maybe that will be the day.
Sunday December 23 is the day we fly back. We fly back to Huntsville this time, instead of Knoxville. Here are our flights for that day:
Delta 47 Moscow - Atlanta (arrive Atlanta at 4:55 PM)
Delta 1634 Atlanta - Huntsville (arrive Huntsville at 8:26 PM)
This is a little later than Jason's arrival time because the Moscow flight is leaving a little later in the day than last year and also because I am scheduling a longer layover in Atlanta. This is being done to prevent almost missing our Huntsville flight like when we had Jason Alexei due to the excessive time we spent in Immigrations getting Jason's paperwork done. The excessive time was because the people "working" in Immigration spent too much time yelling at people to arrange bags a certain way. Ugggghhh...Not looking forward to seeing that gang again...
If you are in town and are around the Sunday night we are back, you are welcome to come see us arrive. We'll see how Grace handles a large crowd!
That is all for now!
