Thanksgiving 2007

Here are some pictures from our Thanksgiving trip to the Baltimore/Washington area. Jason had a great time with cousins. He played on the swing with Allison and Tiffany.

Then he wrestled for the remote with David and Anthony.

Here is a closeup video of Jason on the tire swing.

The next day we went into Washington, D.C. Here is Wendy and Jason on the way to our first stop, the U.S. Capitol building. Jason kept calling Congress "daddy's Moscow". Any building with a dome reminds Jason of Moscow. Ooops. I'll work on straightening this out. Or perhaps Jason is just making a political comment?
Here's us from the Capitol looking towards the Washington Monument.
Next was the Air and Space Museum. Jason, Wendy and I had about an hour to run through it. The Zimmermans went to some culture thing that occupied the museum. Seemed really out of place to me, but there you have it. I'll have an entire post on what we saw.

Next we walked to the Washington Monument. Then we went into some natural history museum. Here is the whole gang at the Washington Monument.

We did not get to see everything up close, but saw lots of things from a distance. Here is the White House. The Washington Monument.
The Capitol building.
And the Jefferson Memorial.
Comparing Moscow and Washington, the Kremlin is much more compact. I guess you circle wagons more closely when your country is continuously attacked by Mongol hordes versus an occasional flare up with the British.

We ended the day with a quick jaunt to the Russian Embassy. Little did we know our court date had already been scheduled by the time we showed up here.
